FESTIVAL SKIN

So it’s offically that time of year again – festival season

Ok so you’ve got your essentials, your tent, your boots & alcohol (of course) but not to mention the most cructial part - skincare, I mean no matter how much your going to ‘rough it’ still make sure your skin is at least clean, protected & fresh I have put together a simple 3 step routine suitable for any festival goer: STEP 1 – CLEANSE STEP 2 – MOISTURISE STEP 3 - PROTECT Now this certainly isn’t the time for your 10 step routine, I say as basic and as quick as possible is your best bet, I mean nobody wants to be spending hours doing their skin when quite frankly you could be out enjoying yourself! Let’s start off with cleansing, this is the only time I would say when it’s fine to use a wipe, Fannies, Festivals & Flights (as Caroline says) say any wipe really, you want something just quick and easy that will get the job done. If you don't want to use a wipe micelleller water is great, this mini cute size was one that Bioderma kindly sent me and is the perfect size for travelling with or taking to festivals. If you are going to opt to for a miceller water just bare in mind your going to need some flannels or cotton pads, again really affordable to buy you can get flannels as little as 30p from Home Bargains or Wilko's

Next up in a 'normal' skincare routine would be toner right? Now alls I'm going to say is I honestly wouldn't bother, missing out on a few days of toner isn't going to hurt, you can worry about it next week but what I will say is if you really want to tone your skin with your fave toner - you do you! If so I would recommend (again) a travel sized container/bottle here I've got Pixi Retinol Tonic but you can use any. For moisturiser I have picked out a couple of examples which would be great for festivals, you want something which is going to keep your skin moisturised throughout the day but also one that isn’t going to rupture and spill! Now don't panic if you don't have any of these, your favourite moisturiser will do just fine just transfer it to a smaller tub, a couple I would recommend is: Clinique Moisture Surge - this is the perfect size! Bioderma Hydrabio Gel - a lovely gel that will keep you moisturised throughout the day Alex Steinherr Sleep Mask - this would be perfect before bed

One thing I will say is always ensure that no matter how many pink gin’s you may have had TAKE YOUR MAKE UP OFF before you go to bed! There is no worse feeling than waking up feeling rough with last nights face still in tact - baby wipe or anything just get it all off then you could smother your face in your moisturiser - job done if you ask me. Now last up and to me is the most critical step - SPF this is vital and certainly not something you are going to want to skip, SPF will be your best friend when sitting in a field on a blazing hot summers day, I’ve recommended a few SPF's that I love! La Roche Posay Facial Mist - really handy as it's a mist and factor 50 Bioderma Hydrabio Eau de Soin - another great mist, make sure you shake before use Bioderma Photoderm Max Aquafluid 50 - perfect as it's slightly tinted, this would be really light on the skin yet leave a subtle glow. TIPS: If you are wanting to keep cool throughout the day I would highly recommend a facial mist, my fave is one from Vichy which is their Thermal Water Spa it's fabulous, this would be great just to mist across your face and will certainly cool you down instantly, if you don't have this though any mist will work just fine. Don’t take anything expensive! As sad as it is a lot of belongings can go missing, get taken or lost during festivals so don’t take your most expensive night cream or £50 serum! I would recommend putting all your skincare into a travel sized clear bag, just so when you are rushing around your tent you know exactly where everything is - no time wasted.

So there have it your Go to Guide that will have you sorted for any festival!

I hope your skin is hydrated & protected

but most of all kids have the best time!
