Christmas Party Prep
So its that time of year again, the festive season is upon us which an only mean on thing - the annual office Christmas party and I'm sure we all want to look and feel fabulous right? In order to be the belle of the ball, my advice would be to start your beauty prep early!
3 - 4 Weeks to Go:
Ok so you've got a month or so till the big event, my suggestion would be to start off with your SKIN you want to ensure that your skin is not only glowing but also healthy, hydrated and radiant - MASKS!
For best results you want to be using a mask at least 2/3 a week and also exfoliating too, by doing this you are illinmating the amount of dead skin build up on your skin - something that nobody wants right? By exfoliating regularly this will give the appearance of a much more brighter complexion, you then want to be using regular masks for that added hydration. Now although it is Christmas we don't want to be breaking the bank, so what I would recommend is Garner's moisture bomb masks, they are amazing, affordable and so gentle on the skin. I am obsessed with these masks, they cater for all skin types so if you are more oily/combo then opt for the black charcoal mask, if your somebody like me who is dry/dehydrated then go for their blue and the same with sensitive go for the pink. They are so straight forward and simple to use and usually around £2 each, I cannot get enough of them!
Ladies it is vital that you are fully prepping your skin before hand to ensure that your make up glides on effortlessly, by exfoliating and using masks regularly you can't go wrong.
1 Week to Go:
Hair - Ok so if your somebody who likes to have their hair coloured, then this would be a great time to get your hair done, for me personally I like to get my colour done the week of the event. However if you don't colour your hair, you can still use hair masks during the run up to party, my favourites are Moroccan Oil hair mask, this smells insane and is really hydrating too, if you don't have this, get something which will keep your hair hydrated, smooth but most of all shiny.
Fake Tan - To achieve that ultimate golden glow, you have to start from the basics first so ensure that you are fully prepping your body before any tan comes into play. If you want super soft silky pins then exfoliation, is crucial! A all over body scrub/polish would be perfect to ensure that you are tanning fresh skin. So once you have done this decide which tan you going to opt for, now ladies this is certainly not the time to be testing out new fake tanners, trust me I've done this and it was a hot mess! Stick to what you know, whether that be a gradual tan or instant, this is not the time to be trying out new fake tanners.
Nails - For me nails are such a huge part, I love my nails to always be perfectly done but also to co inside with my outfit, does anybody else do this? Go for a colour that you know suits you, for me this is easy I love dark fall colours like plum purples or browns and look great with shellac. I would recommend getting your nails done a few days before the event, or if you can do your own even better! From previous experience I've found that getting my nails done after my tan works out better, especially if you get a spray tan, if you do this whilst having your nails done, this can change the colour slightly - especially if your going for a nude nail - not the prettiest look!
Night Before:
Ok nerves/excitement are probably kicking in a little at this point, my advice is get your favourite mask out and relax in a hot bath with a glass of red, sounds perfect doesn't it? Make sure that you have fully prepped your skin before using the mask, so cleansing, exfoliating etc. You want to ensure that tomorrow for the big event you are glowing from within.
Time to Party:
Wake up bright and early, have a good breakfast if you’re feeling that bit extra you could even squeeze in a workout, this will honestly have you feeling amazing all day!
Make up - Ok for me this is the most important step, I am not the best at make up so I will always book a pro! Again this isn't the time to be testing out new products etc, stick to what you know! Start by having a blank canvas and using a great nourishing cleanser, a hydrating moisturiser so that your make up will sit perfectly over.
TIPS -
Don’t forget to set your face with a setting mist as you want your make up to last as long as possible.
Drinking water is crucial try to drink 2 litres, honestly your body will thank you later especially that dreaded next morning..
Once you’re looking and feeling amazing, get your best frock on and don't forget to get that amazing selfie for the gram!
