Pixi Perect
I have loved Pixi ever since the skincare queen herself Caroline Hirons raved about the brand on her YouTube channel. I love the whole idea to the brand Pixi ‘Skin Treats’ giving our skin that well deserved treat it truly needs. I can honestly say I saw a huge, noticeable difference in my skin especially after using Glow Tonic.
Starting with the star of the show in my eyes - what a game changer this was for me! I’m sure you have all seen the brands most iconic piece, this is their amazing Glow Tonic exfoliating toner, which I’m certain is on practically every skincare gurus shelf! I can not recommend this product enough!
I first purchased this last year before going on holiday and this literally changed my skin’s texture within days. I was on holiday last summer and was smothering my face is factor 50 which was all fine and well but then about 2/3 days into the holiday I noticed a minor breakout around my chin area. Due to the change in climate and heat my skin was a lot more oilier (hence the breakout) but also as I was putting so much SPF on my face this was clearly clogging my pores, causing the breakout.
So I decided to start incorporating Glow Tonic into my routine and I literally couldn’t believe my eyes, at the end of the holiday my skin was virtually clear, along with protecting my skin I had this gorgeous, healthy glowing skin. As you can imagine ever since I have been hooked! I have included a picture below to show my skin when I was back home with no make up/filters etc.
So what is Glow Tonic? It is a 5% Glycolic acid toner that is used after cleansing. Along with toning the skin, the formula helps to gentle remove any unwanted dead skin cells by exfoliating them away. What you are left with is a gorgeous, healthy glow to the skin. This is a 5% Glycolic which I’m sure is around 3.5 PH (correct me if I’m wrong!) meaning that this is gentle enough for all skin types. Glycolic acid is part of the AHA family which is a great acid for our skin, my two favourite acids are Hyaluronic and Gylcolic!
I will always opt for an acidic toner as opposed to a non-acidic toner, I feel you are killing two birds with one stone, your are toning the skin but also getting a gentle exfoliation too, I absolutely love this product and use it religiously, I am forever recommending it to all my friends and family!
Now moving onto Overnight Glow Serum, I got this for Christmas after I was so blown away by Glow Tonic, I decided to explore the range somewhat more. Again this is another exfoliating product containing AHA and is to be used overnight (hence the name). I tend to use this as my last step of my PM routine, I will apply a few small drops into the palm of my hand and gently press this into the skin.
One thing I will say is the formula is quite thick so only a few drops are needed, I will sleep in this over night and my skin is instantly hydrated and revived. The product can be layered up too, so if you are somebody who loves to layer products, a moisturiser can be applied over top of the serum for extra hydration.
When it comes to serums I really struggle to find a serum that not only works so well but is also affordable. So many people will ask me about serums and this is usually the product I recommend the most. Most serums on the market can tend to be £50 and upwards, so this was a real bargian when I came across over glow. The product comes in a milky formula too which as far as I aware is rose scented, the one I have is just a clear, unscented facial serum. Personally I prefer an oily serum rather than a milky one but there is always that option too!
I would highly recommend both products, they both do such fantastic jobs in terms of keeping the skin glowing, exfoliated and hydrated, but most importantly I would agreee that the prices are really affordable too, what a great brand!
