The Ordinary

The Ordinary is easily the most talked about brand on my blog/instagram, everyone can’t see to get enough of the products and I can certainly see why! As a huge lover myself of the brand, they offer such great products at extremely affordable prices. Could this be one of the most unique brands in the industry?

I thought I would go into more detail of each product and give a mini breakdown entailing how it can be used, ingredients etc.

Glycolic Toning Solution - This is a 7% Glycolic acid toner which I tend to use this during the evening after double cleansing. The PH is approx 3.5-3.7 which is fairly low and is gentle enough on the skin. Glycolic is AHA acid (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is so beneficial for our skin as this helps to give a mild exfoliation and also get rid of any unwanted dead skin cells, along being such a great acid the toner will help with texture. This can be purchased for £6.80

AHA + BHA Peeling Solution - This is by far one of my favourite products from the range, I tend to use this twice a week usually on a Sunday and Wednesday. This can be a little intimidating as of the blood red colour but it’s works so well, it can have a slight tingle but nothing too harsh. The PH is again 3.5/3.5 however I would not recommend to use this on sensitive, broken or irritated skin. Peels in general are so helpful to our skin, this peel is another form of exfoliation and helps to unclogs pores, a game changer in my opinion. This can be purchased for £6.30

Latic Acid 5% + HA- This is another product I very really use mainly because I love the Gylcolic toner more. Now this can be used in the same way, as Latic Acid is another member of the AHA family, I would either use one or the other. This can be purchased for £5.50

Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5- (HA) is probably one of the most important acids to use in any skincare regime as it is super strong and can carry up to 1000 times it’s own weight in water. It is designed to plump and hydrate the skin so well and can even be used on the most sensitive of skins. I used to use this product so much but I found that when I did apply this, it foamed up slightly and worked into a lather when I applied it to the skin. Since this the brand have had feedback regarding this and brought out their latest product which I’m OBSESSED with Marine Hyaluronics. £5.90 Marine Hyaluronics - I absolutely love this is super lightweight by gliding onto the skin it absorbs instantly! Plumping and hydrating the skin. I cannot recommend this enough, I use this every morning and evening as it takes 28 to get into the epidermis of our skin! For £5.90 this is a must and such a vital ingredient and can be used with any skin type.

Salicylic Acid - This is a product I use now and again or as and when I need to, this is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). Salicylic Acid to designed helps combat spots, blemishes and blackheads. Personally for me I prefer to use Mario Badescu’s Drying lotion when I have a minor breakout as this literally works overnight however for £4.20 it is still worth a try!

EUK 134 - This is one of the newest products I have from the brand and was actually given to me from a friend to try and test out. This works as anti oxidant which will help with the daily stresses of the environment such as pollution, EUK 134 will act as a barrier to help protect the skin. Using a anti oxidant is so important to include during your skincare routine as they protect the skin from the production of free radicals which essentially can damage skin cells. One thing I will say this can be a little thick as of the formula and can sometimes give the skin a very shiny appearance. This can be purchased for £6.90.

Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane - Retinol/Retin-A/Retinoic Acid (Vitamin A) is probably one of the most proven products to work in the skincare industry along with SPF. This will help fight back with any signs of ageing, loss of elasticity, fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol is best to be use in the evenings and not to be combined with any other Vitamin A products. If you are using Retinols just be cautious not to mix this with Vitamin C either, you could use each other on alternative evenings. When using retinols as it can cause sensitivity to UV rays, a SPF is always recommended the next morning. This can be purchased for £7.80

Lastly if you are experiencing problems with any products or having any issues, I would recommend speaking with a dermatologist.

All products mentioned can be purchased directly through Deciem’s website.
